Effectiveness of measures to close the Ethnicity Pay Gap.

We have found 119 companies that have self disclosed their Ethnicity pay gap and analysed the measures they have been using.

We looked at three years of reporting to determine the impact of 27 common measures used by those companies to address their median ethnicity pay gap %.

The chart below shows the prevalence of the measures when comparing those companies who saw an increase and those that saw a decrease.

Green arrows indicate the more successful measures and the red the least successful.

Ethnicity data collection and analysis was deemed to be the most effective measure as it was the most common action taken by companies who reduced their ethnicity pay gap over the three years.

Great to see the important of Exec sponsorship and the great work that the internal diversity networks do to make a difference in their company.

Surprising to see feedback channels as being the least effective and this could be down to a lack of trust and maybe needs more time to support change in the companies.
